Little Malta loves to throw a party. The island’s glorious weather allows for long mornings dozing on beaches and leisurely evenings dancing under clear skies.
When music festivals sweep in, live music mingles with coastal breezes and DJ sets accompany star-speckled nights. Whatever your groove is, you’ll get into it quickly here: there are festivals for every genre from pop to dance to jazz… Oh, and because Malta is so small, you’re never far from a hotel with a comfy bed to crawl into post party.
Hoopla
Malta is ranked number one for LGBTQ+ rights by ILGA-Europe, making it the perfect place for inclusive festival Mighty Hoopla Weekender to make some noise. This pop music extravaganza championing freedom and expression promises tonnes of fun and tonnes of glitter. Expect sunset parties overlooking The Mediterranean Sea and private beach boogies. Hoopla Malta – the festival’s first venture outside of the UK – will take place on the main island from 26-29 September 2025.

Defected
Party at a star-shaped fort, in a UNESCO-listed moat and on a boat boasting island views. Dance festival Defected is bringing house music to quirky venues as well as classic party hubs like beach club Cafe del Mar and UNO, the biggest open-air venue in Malta, this autumn. Get ready for three days of DJs and golden sunrays from 3-5 October 2025.
Malta Jazz Festival
If chilled-out jam sessions are more your scene, visit Valletta in July for Malta Jazz Festival. Much of this annual festival takes place on the waterfront: saxophonists play smooth solos and pianists twinkle the ivories as lights twinkle on the Grand Harbour. Exact dates and acts for 2025 have yet to be announced but you can count on an ensemble of local and international stars bringing their signature styles to the island.
Isle of MTV
Dance freely. Sing freely. Attend freely. Isle of MTV is Europe’s largest free music festival. This annual event sees chart-hitting musicians taking to the stage in Il-Fosos Square for one sparkling summer night. Previous lineups have included the likes of Lady Gaga and Marshmello. SummerDaze
In 2024, this dazzling celebration of summer took over Ta’Qali National Park with headliners Sam Smith and Becky Hill while Radio 1 Dance: Malta brought acts like Jax Jones to multi-venue club UNO. SummerDaze festival is expected to return in August 2025 with more big names and dance anthems – think nonstop energy and beats that flow well into the early morning. More details to be announced.

I. Flight + hotel and flight + car vacations between $1000-$1999 - pay from $198 deposit per booking
II. Flight + hotel and flight + car vacations between $2000-$2499 - pay from $250 deposit per booking
III. Flight + hotel and flight + car vacations between $2500-$2999 - pay from $300 deposit per booking
18. The deposit balance will be due 28 days prior to your departure date. The actual payment date will be displayed on the payment details page. You can pay the balance in as many instalments as you want. This allows you to spread the cost of the vacation over a longer period. You will have full flexibility of when you make the payments and how much they are, the only requirement is that you must have paid the full balance by the balance due date.
